Mrs. Fortkamp
Originally from suburban Boston, Massachusetts, Lea (LaCross) Fortkamp holds a B.A. and M.Ed. from DePaul University in Chicago. A member of Lincoln-Way's English faculty since 2006, Mrs. Fortkamp has taught most of Lincoln-Way's English Department offerings, including English I-IV, English I Honors, College Writing, AP English Language and Composition, and elective courses in Drama, Theater, and Creative Writing. Mrs. Fortkamp has coached boys and girls swimming at water polo at Lincoln-Way Central and West, and has directed and produced numerous plays on both campuses. Currently, Mrs. Fortkamp teaches both English I Honors and English III and sponsors West's Scholastic Bowl team.
Outside of school, Mrs. Fortkamp stays busy with her son Henry (4 1/2) and daughter Zoe (almost 2). She and her husband Mark live in the western suburbs and enjoy travel, running, Boston sports, football, and all things outdoors. Mrs. Fortkamp has ridden horses since childhood and is a member of the Wayne-DuPage Hunt. She and her horse, Ivy, are pretty big fans of fox hunting. Mrs. Fortkamp also drinks a lot of coffee.
